Tattoo artist, Sagent Staygold, has been tattooing all over the world for over 20 years. Sage’s tattoo style is based on traditional and American styles, showing clean lines and solid color.
ABOUT SAGE
Sage is known for his ‘Paradise Army’ tattoos and art where you can see how he is connecting traditional tattoo styles with street art and graphic design. He explores themes of classic graphic design elements and utopian landscapes. Check out his interview and feature in Lucky Seven headwear here.
His artistic career started out as a graffiti artist in the 80’s and 90’s leading him to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design and eventually using those skills to become a tattoo artist.
Sagent Staygold has been featured in Shake Japan, International Tattoo Art Magazine, Skin & Ink, While You Were Sleeping Magazine, On The Go Magazine, and featured in the book Enamelized; as well as also winning Best Traditional tattoo at Motorcity tattoo Expo, 2005.

HAMBURG GRAFFITI HISTORY 1980 – 1999
The exhibition “A CITY BECOMES COLOURFUL. Hamburg Graffiti History 1980-1999”, tells the story of the origins of this youth subculture in Hamburg. Long before we knew him as Sagent Staygold he was Data70/Pisces xTMC, view select sketches and artwork of his from 2 November 2022 until 31 July 2023 at the Museum for Hamburg History. At the beginning of the 1980s, Hamburg’s urban landscape gradually began to change. The instigators of this transformation were not urban planners, however, but graffiti artists: inspired by films like Wild Style and Beat Street, they moved around the city at night with spray cans and left behind colourful pictures, symbols and writing on walls, bridges and train carriages. Over the course of time, Hamburg – which had been a grey city dominated by postwar architecture – was transformed into a colourful and diverse metropolis which soon became one of the European epicentres of the graffiti and hip-hop scene, alongside Paris, Amsterdam and Munich.
